SAT Study Plan: 6–10 Week Template
Written by Ascend Academic mentors—students from top universities helping others succeed.
A good SAT study plan balances content work, timed practice, and review. This template gives you a weekly structure you can adapt.
Weeks 1–2: Diagnose and Fix Top Gaps
Take a diagnostic. Identify the 2–3 question types or topics that hurt you most. Spend most of your time there: review concepts, then do targeted practice and review every error.
Weeks 3–5: Expand and Add Timed Work
Broaden to more weak areas. Add at least one timed section per week and one full-length test every two weeks. Keep a mistake log.
Weeks 6–10: Full-Length Focus
Increase full-length frequency. Simulate test day: same time, same conditions. Use results to fine-tune the last few weak spots and to practice your review process.
Customize the Plan With Data and Strategy
If you have more or less time, scale the phases up or down. Use context from SAT statistics and SAT score percentiles to choose a realistic target range for your goals.
Then focus your weeks around section-level priorities. For example, pair this template with SAT math tips and SAT reading tips so every study block has a clear purpose. For a plan tailored to your schedule and goals, book a free consultation or start SAT tutoring with Ascend Academic.
